This is a popular swimming area in the Tasman Sea near the city of New Plymouth in Taranaki. The Sugar Loaf Islands are eroded remnants of an early volcanic centre and once out to sea form part of a Marine Park. Upthrusts from the volcanic layers formed the landscape both above and below the sea. Motoroa, Motumahanga (Seal Rocks) and Wharemu (Lion Road) are all wildlife sanctuaries.
The seven islands provide a unique habitat for sea life, bird life and plant life.

It certainly is a wonderful spot and very popular with swimmers, surfers, fishermen, day walkers and also popular as a backdrop for wedding photos

Awesome sounding trip Jing. Have you been to China before, is a truly amazing place, well what we saw of it. Only thing I didn't like was in the museums the recreation of the bedrooms of past emporers, didn't like all the dark colours, but apart from that I loved it.
Look forward to you heading this way as well
